HAPPY NEW YEAR

2007 Here we come! To briefly recap the evening: I actually watched the whole Packer game with my awesome fam, several glasses of beer, and Bud's friend Meg who had the best outfit in the bar!(in pic) I was so glad psych J showed up with her great new red shoes! -- After the game, I ended up seeing The Kissers (what an AWESOME band) with No Bull Shit R and her honey Jimbo and danced the night away!

Some plans I have for the new year:

1. Cook 1 of every recipe in my new crock pot cook book...I mean cook 1 recipe out of my new cook book!

2. Fall in love at least 1 damn time before 2008.

3. Sing 2 songs every day because 1 just isn't enough, starting with this song by Tom Waits. Check out this clip and be sure to listen to the whole song! It's hilarious.

4. Go to the gym...maybe...

5. Buy a cookie cutter

6. Sneak in to a wedding reception! Who's with me on this one? (I've been waiting for this one since WAY before that movie with those guys)

7. Go to Chicago for dinner and run into someone famous!

8. Make out with a bass player...hee hee

9. Plan my 30th birthday party (sorry girls, Vegas is not looking good... start planning for the biggest bash at Uncle J's EVER!

10. Laugh a lot?? Well, I do that anyway....

Wen...do NOT tell me you left your ipod in the bathroom stall!! DAMMIT. Well I didn't get my health form in to this school because of the damn holiday so I think I just worked all day today and will not get paid today! I could have spent the money of half of your new iPod :)

I wanted to read your blog and hear your spewings on teaching again...but I guess I heard all about it over the phone. Hang in there, it is only for 3 weeks and then it is back to college life, yeah the sweet life.

Cookies and Muffins

  I'm BAAAACK. Let's get right into it! To make a dumb story long- to make a long story dumb? A few weeks ago I saw this cookie magazine at Woodmans and I was like I. Want. that. Then I saw it cost $12.99. No.  I also know cookie recipes are onLINE, but boring. There's just something fun about looking at beautiful cookie pictures! Anyway, I went home, searched the library and put 2 Christmas cookie books on hold. A week later I got my books and what a disappointment. Boo. No good recipes in either of them. TODAY I'm at the grocery store and there she is, Taste of Home Holiday Cookies and Baking!!! And I was right, within the 1st 5 pages, there were 4 cookies that looked amazing. Even MORE amazing was page 15 where I found the cranberry orange cookies- cause I had cranberries in the fridge and randomly bought an orange at the store today! It was destiny! Canoeing down the Lower Zambezi

The group, ours and locals going on to the car ferry.  Entrance to the park Dang, what are these birds, I think they are Camden, or Carmen Bug Eaters? or something. Very pretty. The first African elephant I saw! Much Larger than Asian Elephants Who is that lurking in the water??  Some Hippos! Gorgeous stork (I think?) Another elephant. I wonder if he is older, as shown by his color variation? Me reading the book that the new parents (M and R) gave me! Also, notice the 3 beverages. The one in the glass is called a Malawi Shandy and is great. I think it's ginger ale, bitters and...maybe just that. A Rock Shandy is with lemonade instead of ale.   The evening cruise, didn't see nearly as much wildlife, but this guy was yawning.  Zambian Sunset! A baobab tree. Very cool. Mutinondo

Whoa! What a cool place this Mutinondo  was!  It is is a woodland, wilderness area NORTH EAST of Lusaka about 10 hours by bus. (Sorry about the yelling, that is a little shout out to my friend, you know who you are) (Also,  let me know if the link doesn't work) There were these gorgeous look-out points and mountains....well, large granite hills, but they were steep enough and we climbed up 2 of them. It took about 30 minutes to get to the top of each.  In the top video I'm reaching the top of the mountain!  You can hear our cool driver Mr. K cheering? :) me on!  These photos are in no order exactly, but I'll talk a little about each one!
