Hard Boiled Egg Return

Wow, I was going so good on this blog and then who knows what happened? (Well, I do know, I went to Vegas with my buddy for her special birthday, and then it was MY birthday)

 This one needs a little explaining- if you haven't been to Vegas- Fremont Street has all these people dressed up like famous people or super heros or like that guy... Who was my favorite :)

This morning I made this hard boiled egg. The ability to properly take the shell off continues to evade me. I did put the eggs in water, boiled them, turned off the heat. Let them cook, then put them in ice water after like 8 minutes. The texture of the yolk was pretty perfect and it worked perfectly in my cheese, tomato crepe, but crimes. What a shelling nightmare.



Okay, I promise to stay on track...and post...as much as I can! :)

Cookies and Muffins

  I'm BAAAACK. Let's get right into it! To make a dumb story long- to make a long story dumb? A few weeks ago I saw this cookie magazine at Woodmans and I was like I. Want. that. Then I saw it cost $12.99. No.  I also know cookie recipes are onLINE, but boring. There's just something fun about looking at beautiful cookie pictures! Anyway, I went home, searched the library and put 2 Christmas cookie books on hold. A week later I got my books and what a disappointment. Boo. No good recipes in either of them. Canoeing down the Lower Zambezi

The group, ours and locals going on to the car ferry.  Entrance to the park Dang, what are these birds, I think they are Camden, or Carmen Bug Eaters? or something. Very pretty. The first African elephant I saw! Much Larger than Asian Elephants Who is that lurking in the water??  Some Hippos! Gorgeous stork (I think?) Another elephant. I wonder if he is older, as shown by his color variation? Me reading the book that the new parents (M and R) gave me! Also, notice the 3 beverages. The one in the glass is called a Malawi Shandy and is great. I think it's ginger ale, bitters and...maybe just that. A Rock Shandy is with lemonade instead of ale.   The evening cruise, didn't see nearly as much wildlife, but this guy was yawning.  Zambian Sunset! A baobab tree. Very cool. Blueberry Tart

I didn't wear a bra to the dog park today. It was awesome. I also made a blueberry tart!! It's been 6 month since I last posted. There are some good vibes going around tonight. Lil' Squirrel had a mega tantrum 'cause his ice cream was on a plate instead of in a bowl. I was pairing it with this blueberry tart and I knew if I put the 2 items together, they would touch- so I thought sure a plate was the answer. No. But then, A MIRACLE he cried so hard over the ice cream, he passed out at 7:30 and is sound asleep!! The Tart. I used  this recipe . Heidi just farted. The dog. (that's an inside joke for my friend, Sally, I hope you are reading this!)   The directions said, "Prep Time 10 Minutes" I said, yeah right.  My guess is 30 minutes.   Here is my start time: I took that picture of the clock and then Lil' Squirrel's computer ran out of battery.
