Graduation

Image
So my youngest cousin Robin is graduating from college today. Her degree is in art/graphic design and I hope she does something really exciting in life :) Check out some of the art she has done HERE . Congratulations Cous! In domestic news, it is seriously time for some spring cleaning. I was going to work on Monday but fek that. It's time to clean the dust bunnies, wait I mean dust horses that are hanging out under my bed and lurking in the corners. I'm still on the look out for free plants...and a plant stand. I think I'm going to start going to rummage sales. Reduce Re-use, Recycle, right? It is very weird to be done with school. I'm not exactly sure what to do with myself. I mean, I've been practicing being blank. It's not that hard. You just sit there and stare or something. I ALSO just bought my first comic book. I don't know, the pictures are kind of a pain in the ass-- :) It's gonna be 80 today- Have a good day! Ms. Non-Sequitur

Look how cute she is, and her husband so dashing....their baby will be a adorable for sure :) Congratulations to the proud parents to be! Signing out, Ms. Non-Sequitur

(see "cling" above) This paper (#2) is making me crazy! thank god I only have TWO MORE to DO. When will this madness be OVER? Oh yeah, May 16th!!!! The good news is that I applied for a job at the cutest little coffee house near my house! I'll let you know if I got the job. They are going to have beer and wine soon too, which means I can booze while I work. Just kidding. And a little patio with tables and food- so I can be a waitress too. Won't that be fun? You can all come down to my shop and I'll take 10 cents off your coffee :) Although, what if the coffee machine explodes while I'm trying to make a double mocha latte and metal and shards of glass poke me in the eye? No. That would be silly. This picture was taken in Shanghai when it was FREEZING in our apartment and I was watc...

Too funny not to post

A message from my buddy Sally below: Your activist classmates should try to save the librarians instead of saving Africa or boycotting gas- the speedo-wearing guys in the fountain should be dancing around the librarians to save them from turning into horrible, mean old maids who are extra crappy to young college girls with bright futures, like you! Ha Ha (In regards to the speedo reference, some guys were fundraising in Library Mall the other day and they were swimming in the fountain with their speedos on. I was gawking at them and talking to Sal on the phone.) 3 other things: 1)I found a safety pin on the ground yesterday and and I put it in my pocket for good luck. 2) My jeans have the most ridiculous fly that unzips while I am walking to class, so I have to be careful because sometimes I forget to check it and I realize I've just walked 4 blocks with a big hole in the front of my pants. 3) We saw the Daili Lama today! Very cool. His message was about compassion and peace. I ...

The Butter and Drunk Angry Baking

Image
So I put this butter on my couch near the heater/window so it could soften up for me to make cookies (since I'm still using my hand and/or a wooded spoon for mixing). That was like over a week ago. The funny thing is that the Raj got all concerned a few days ago and was like...."There's butter on your couch" and I was like I know I'm softening it up. But THEN I honestly did forget about it and it was there for a few days extra and some butter got on my couch-- anyway I remembered it again the other day and moved it to the counter. So yesterday was perhaps one of the most stressful horrible days I've had in a long time...I always say Tuesdays are bad. And honestly, every Tuesday is bad for me, for reals. So if you're a Leo, you probably have bad Tuesdays too. When I got home at 4:00 I immediately opened a bottle of wine, had a glass, and decided to make the cookies since I didn't want to think about all this emotional baggage I was carrying. O...

Milk Toast Post

Dude I have been seriously lacking in the postage area this week! SERIOUSLY! Today I'm going to a purse party...which I guess is just like a Tupperware party but for purses- Last night after school got out, I mean the library closed at 5, we had a couple beers at the union! Very fun, although there was this weird performer, like a beat poet or something. He kept like reading poetry over these congas and a upright bass--but the poetry was like...SOO BAD!!!! OOOoohh Good idea!! I'll write some: (The congas start a slow random repeating pattern--quarter note then two eighth notes. The bass jumps in with a steady slow strum between G and C) so I was was walking....down the street and I imagined that I saw a four headed cat he was short and fat and running with an ice cream cone in his paw when along came a police officer who asked for his bus pass then thank god the heads merged into one and he handed me a $20 bill and I screamed I LOVE Madison in the spring time Sincerely, Ms....

Coke and the Limerek

Image
I haven't been drinking diet Coke for a while because I just knew Big Business was hurting other countries, I was so glad when I was finally given a reason to really hate Coke! "The American Anthropological Association's Executive Board has endorsed the boycott of Coca-Cola products, citing "the growing anthropological record of problems in communities where the Coca-Cola Company operates." The push to boycott Coke has been growing on campuses, although some institutions have pulled back from it. The company has repeatedly defended its activities and said that critics have distorted its record." from http://www.insidehighered.com /news/2007/03/06/qt Also, KT started Market's Whores on which I also post (along with Hob Gadling) in our wishes to be radically less consumerist-- We've both been posting on it for a few months, but I know we both want to try to write more! In other news.... My dear friend, Crazy T from China send me this poem. His ...

God this clip is funny. I think I've watched it 20 times today. I saw it for the first time a few years ago and every once in a while I remember it and watch it again! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JitDWQI9qc If you missed it that was...free love on the free love freeway the love is free and the freeway is long...YES I just typed that by memory! :) The Seq

Chalk two up for the D N

Yep...yesterday....2 loads of laundry and I FORGOT SOAP in BOTH loads! GOD! lol What is my problem?? Maybe it was the apple martinis, I'm not sure. THEN today I was making some left over chicken curry and had just put it in a bowl on the counter- at the same time I was talking to the Philosopher on the phone and SMASH, I bump a wine glass and a plate in the sink and they both break, not a big deal, but the big question was...do I still eat the chicken? A dish rack full of dishes provided a barrier between the sink and food. I wanted the chicken so badly, I mean I was just craving some good old meat, but finally Dad convinced me that a shard of glass cutting holes in my stomach would not be worth the risk. Finally with much sadness and despair, I threw it away :( Now I'm eating a crappy bowl of cereal and I'm so unhappy! The only good thing that has happened lately was this snowman that the cowboy and I made this afternoon! It was the most perfect snow for snowman makin...

Stupid Nothings

Blah yadda tipstocks gock nimber sackey schnaffle goap! Translation : Tell the goat to stop eating chocolate covered pretzels! Simky riflum surfpri coofa i fet! Translation: The alien's plane just crash landed in my kitchen! You know in cartoons how they have like little people running around in your head? I need one of those guys up there to tell me when I have meetings so I don't forget to go. Also, the little person should have a little notepad so he can write down where I put important things, like my driver's license and my buss pass. Yes. I think that would be both helpful and nice. It's a miracle, but somehow my house got cleaned yesterday, I don't exactly know how I did it after teaching kindergarten with Cousin Q all day...that's right, I subbed for her teaching partner and the kids didn't even eat me alive! BUT my refrigerator is leaking water really bad. Like there is a big puddle on the bottom shelf that is sort of frozen over now. It's...

Dumb

I was rapping to that song by eminem you know, that one with the part about the bum. Anyway, I was rapping it all wrong and i couldn't stop laughing. Anyway, here is the Tom Green original , it is so stupid they are surely going to kick me out of the library computer lab shortly for lol-ing Also, I'm having an extreme day-after-valentines-day-chocolates-on-sale low. I hope my blood sugar equalizes with all the water I'm drinking-- maybe some coffee would help. PS: St. Patrick's Day is on March 17th...a SATURDAY. For those of you in Madison, get ready for The Kissers at the High Noon Saloon...Sunny D and I are in and everyone else is invited! Also, I'm spying on HWel. She's in there working and I'm out here typing but I can hear her talking sometimes. Heh heh heh heh BACK TO WORK GINA, QUIT PROCRASTINATING....

Hair and the Mystery

Image
Well, check out the mug shots. KT dyed my hair the other night...it's supposedly brown...but I think it is kind of red. At least I look like a convict! Seriously, I look weird in all 4 pics and I couldn't put them in the order I wanted! :) There's also a mystery underfoot. A few days ago a posted a picture of my fridge and now it is gone...have they removed my picture? Weird. I mean I didn't take it down. Was it the coke zero can? I would have thought that was like free advertising....or was it an angry grocery store that wanted my money! Also, check out the Hometown Sweethearts if you ever get a chance! Karba, Psych J and I danced the night away to their awesome cover tunes. Reading until I die, Ms. Non-Sequitur

PIES

Guess who baked a Swedish Apple Pie this morning....ME! Yep, it is gonna be awesome! The Raj and I are off to the country to dine with friends this evening. I also picked up all my clothes which I had been dropping on my floor since new years! Can you imagine? Oh....I bet you can. The Roller Derby last night was a hoot, but the most exciting part was running in to this guy HWel and I knew from school...it was so crazy....of course I couldn't remember him at ALL as I so elegantly stated..."Gosh V, I just don't remember you at all!" :) I then invited him to my 30th birthday party this summer and he responded with...."I went to one of your birthday parties at Bay Beach-" and I still had the "I still don't remember you" look on my face! Whatev, HWel was smart and we got his number, so we're totally gonna call him. I'm so glad I'm inviting people to my birthday party 6 months out! lol Uncle J-- the birthday party is still on, Sat. HAPPY NEW YEAR

Image
2007 Here we come! To briefly recap the evening: I actually watched the whole Packer game with my awesome fam, several glasses of beer, and Bud's friend Meg who had the best outfit in the bar!(in pic) I was so glad psych J showed up with her great new red shoes! -- After the game, I ended up seeing The Kissers (what an AWESOME band) with No Bull Shit R and her honey Jimbo and danced the night away! Some plans I have for the new year: 1. Cook 1 of every recipe in my new crock pot cook book...I mean cook 1 recipe out of my new cook book! 2. Fall in love at least 1 damn time before 2008. 3. Sing 2 songs every day because 1 just isn't enough, starting with this song by Tom Waits. Check out this clip and be sure to listen to the whole song! It's hilarious. 4. Go to the gym...maybe... 5. Buy a cookie cutter 6. Sneak in to a wedding reception! Who's with me on this one? (I've been waiting for this one since WAY before that movie with those guys) 7. Go to Chicago for...

Party #2

Image
Whoo hoo...the cheese/cracker/dessert/wine party was a huge success! The white elephant gift exchange was off the charts! The used candle and the box of stolen office supplies were my favorites! A good time was had by all! KT's birthday pickle stole the show! PsychJ's peanut chocolate bars may have topped my peanut butter balls....they were amazing! Is it silly to post a picture of my butt? I say what the hell, I might as well post it while I'm young, so I don't have to post it when I'm old and saggy! I can't believe I'm totally done with everything! This is AWESOME! Peace! Ms. Non-Sequitur

Sunny D's party

Image
What an awesome weekend! Thanksgiving was a smash with Thanksgiving dinner with the fam. You'll be happy to know that my green bean casserole and apple pie were SMASH HITS as well Cousin Q's turkey which was a great success (even though we cooked it upside down! :) I must also mention that my dad has lost another tooth! There is this huge gap of like 4 missing teeth right in the front! Friday was Sunny D's super birthday party, which is where all these fab pics came from! Check out Sunny D and Betty P (that's the best name I could think of!) getting jiggy wid it in the kitchen! Then we have Melly Sue and NS dancin'--love the belly hangin out Gina! And last we have Sun, NS, and PsyJ. AWWW Okay I'm almost late! Talk to you again soon! NS

What Day is it today?

Oh yeah.. FRIDAY! Whoo hooo. Want to hear about some gross things that I've done?? 1) I picked up this hair band (much to The Raj's horror) from the parking lot cement and put it in my pocket. About an hour later... I PUT IT IN MY HAIR. Gross, but I lose hair rubber bands all the time, I felt like it was just like the world giving back to me. 2) I've been picking all the skin off my thumb-- it hurts and sometimes it bleeds. Its so stoopid. Actually it looks okay today because a bunch of new skin grew back. 3) I can't think of any more gross things at the moment, but I do want to draw to your attention that Australians say the word Haich for the letter H. Isn't that cool? It would sure make it easier when little kids are learning phonics. XX Ms. Non-Sequitor

Warm Milk and Olives

Last night I rediscovered something I haven't drank in a long time! Homade (is that a word? lol home made? homemade?) warm milk with chocolate. I guess it was hot chocolate, but it was more like heated up skim milk with some chocolate syrup added! My grandma used to make it for me I think. It's like a faint memory of warm milk...maybe it was just milk with no chocolate... The POINT is that I was doing my laundry at the same time and it almost boiled over and the stupid chocolate totally stuck to the bottom of the pan even though I was able to stir some of it back into the milk! In other food news, I made an egg scramble this morning with eggs, garlic and olives! It was awesome! I just hope the olives are okay since they are leftovers from the party I had at my house like 2 or 3 weeks ago! lol But olives are like pickled right? So they should be fine. Damn. There is something else I was going to tell everyone...but I can't bloody remember. Here are some other bits of...

Breakfast Recipe

I have another great breakfast recipe for you today! Ingredients: chips, cheese, coffee Directions: 1. Put the chips on a baking sheet 2. Cover the chips with cheese 3. Bake in the oven for 6 minutes 4. Brew some coffee and put it in a cup with expired milk (just one day past) 5. Serve together for breakfast Borat, that movie about that guy from Kazakhstan who terrorizes Americans is damn good. Good, but exhausting... it is soooo over the top and politically incorrect it is seriously a lot of work to watch it! Oh I guess I'll venture out into the madness and visit my cousins and uncle J who are drinking beer somewhere watching the Badger game. I wish I hadn't drank on Thursday (in celebration of the AB) and yesterday though. Oh, by the way, the Philosopher's visit went on without a hitch! He checked out the car and said to take it to the shop, YAY, then we ran some errands and ended up at the union where we drank 2 pitchers of beer! Thank goodness he is such a skillf...
